Painting, Drawing, Printing, sculpture
In 2023 I ended a long career in law. Mine, that is. Latterly, I had begun to refocus on my lifelong love of art, both the doing and the appreciation of, and in June 2022 I started summer classes at Glasgow School of Art’s Open Studio, which was, for me a real eye- and mind-opener. Since then, I have been making art, mainly drawing, painting and sculpting, in what has turned out to be an expanding range of mixed media including acrylics, collage, paper and various types of board and clay. Inspired by science, engineering, architecture and philosophy as well as the natural world, geology, and the work of other artists, I like to combine my exploration of new concepts with new artistic techniques (new to me, anyway) in considering patterns and coincidences that occur in the natural world and how these relate to the way we perceive ourselves and our world.
I am a member of the AC Collective, an artists’ collective based in Glasgow which brings together artists from various disciplines in order to collaborate, exchange ideas and stage exhibitions.
